August Fun!

Check out what we did in August!  Enjoy our life in photos!

August was a busy month for us. But we said good bye to all of our interns and finished out our busy team season! We welcomed just one team but also had a trip to Texas for a wedding and I went to Fort Wayne for my parent's 50th anniversary!

TLCC Church from NJ

Our interns:

Caroline, Kennedy (kinda), Matt, Sean, Sophie

We went to Texas for Abbie and Austin's wedding.  Abbie was one of our interns at the very beginning of 2018. She asked Bruce to marry them, so we took a quick trip to Texas for the wedding and get to hang out with them and help with the wedding preparations.

Texas looks a little different than Costa Rica!

Looking good!

So beautiful!

With Abbie and Austin. So thankful for them! And getting to be a part of their special day!

Photo op!

A decent picture! Hallelujah!

To say it was a whirlwind, tiring trip is an understatement!

I was able to go to Fort Wayne to surprise my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary. It was nice to help my mom and dad around the house and finish some projects outside before winter hit. They had no idea I was coming! It was a great surprise!

Had a cookout with my parents and my brothers!

Our family picture! It's been awhile!

Emme had a swimming tournament in Lindora. Her second to last tournament in the pools before she graduates to Open Swims (ocean and lakes)

Love that he is so into reading!

We got to know a missionary couple from KY, to help them in whatever they needed. It was nice to be able to hang out with them. When they left, we had one last hurrah with dinner and card games.

We also said good bye to one of our interns, Sophie. We all loved her and can't wait for her to come back!

Basically she fits right in to our crazy family!
One of the big jobs we helped with was a LARGE, GINORMOUS clothing donation. We help move the bags of clothes, sort them and organize them, so the church could open it to the public.

Hundreds of clothes made their way to the Project

Always reading--and with a puppy!
In August, one our friends' dad passed away. He was a pillar of the Abraham Project and it was hard to realize that he would no longer be here with us. He left such a mark on our lives and many, many others'.
When I heard that Don Herbert passed away, this is the sunset that I saw. It was only fitting that God would welcome him home with a sunset and celebration like this.

Gotta play nintendo as either Mario or Luigi!

That is pretty much what we did, in a nut shell....

Thanks for checking it out!

April Fun!

Check out our family life through pictures!  ENJOY!

So of course April starts with April Fool's Day. Poor Leyton!

Leyton got April fooled at night by his sister!

In April we welcomed 3 teams.

Dr Sala and Dr Ahoyt Team, NV and IL

Living Hope Baptist Church, KY

JE- Team Aletheia Christian Academy

The kids got to hang out with some friends from the groups!

In April, I was able to take a trip to London to visit one of our former interns and to sight-see. I have always dreamed of going to England and was so excited that God worked out the details! There is a WHOLE LOTTA PICTURES--too many to post here--maybe another post for that! But it wa A-MAZ-ING!!!!
EEK!!!

Katherine, our former intern, picked me up at Heathrow airport.

While I was gone, Bruce had a visitor that came down and blessed the Project with welding equipment and taught the guys how to weld with mig welders.

Also while I was gone to England, Bruce and the kids and our two interns at the time, Abbie and Sophie, had a Zumbo's Just Desserts bake off!

As soon as I got back from London, Leyton had his birthday party. He had a couple of his friends over for ice cream cake and some play time!

We got to make Grandma Judy's famous pumpkin chocolate chip cookies--kids' first time helping!
April was also Book Character Day at the kid's school
Emme went as Hermione Granger from "Harry Potter" and Leyton went as Greg from "Diary of a Wimpy Kid"
Emme also got to bring home the class rabbit for the weekend. Her name is Chile Picante.
Chile is a sweet rabbit and the dogs just loved her so much and wanted to eat her up....
After getting back from England, I decided to bring some traditions home with me.  This is my teapot from Stratford-Upon-Avon (Shakespeare's home) and my teacup is from Kensington Palace and is a Princess Diana memorial teacup. I'm in LOVE.

Thank you for all who have supported us--in ANY way at all!

May Fun!

For Leyton's birthday, he got the World Cup sticker album! He was so excited!

A fun day out at the park for the kids and our friends.

A little too big for them, I think!

Bruce ran his first marathon in the San Jose Marathon.

We also welcomed two teams during May.

Calvary Baptist Christian Academy, PA

In May, we welcomed one of our former interns for a couple of weeks before she left for a study abroad program in Argentina. We loved having Alyssa with us and we had a good time spending time with her!

Out for lunch!

A beautiful sunset....never miss a photo op!

The cathedral in Coronado, we took Alyssa to see it

To say the kids are going to miss Alyssa is an understatement

One of the boys in the daycare was obsessed with the Rubik's cube. Natalia, our friend, knew that Bruce could solve it, so she had him come in and show Ian. Afterwards, Bruce gave him the Rubik's cube to practice!

Ian never moved the whole time Bruce was showing him how to do it--that is rare!

In May, I was surprised by one of the daycare class by a surprise of balloons and Happy birthday! It was so sweet!

My English class and my surprise birthday and balloons!
I also got to wake up on my birthday and watch the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle!

With my Harry and Meghan Teacup

I was there!!

While working on Phase 2, we had a torrential downpour and had flooding that caused problems for us on Phase 2 with the wall and the bodega. So we had to work fast to fix it before we lost too much of the dirt to erosion.

Bruce working hard!

The new river!
We also just got to do some fun stuff as a family!

We saw IrazĂș Volcano--clear and beautiful!

Me and the kids got to go zip lining with one of the teams

I saw the decal in the window and laughed. It is 0.0 running sticker! I totally get it!

In May we also had a Cowboy festival at our church. There was a lot of food and fun things to do!

Leyton got to ride on a horse!
