Joshua Expeditions Teams 1-5!

This year we had several Joshua Expeditions Teams-- and most of them came for 1 day and back to back!

Here is a look at what they all did!

JE Team 1-  Family Christian, Houston TX

This team was here for 3 days! We were so excited to host a JE team for more than 1-2 days.  We got to connect with them and get to know them better!

We actually got our intern, Alex, from this team!

The team!

Working on Phase 2

Repainting the trash bins

Always mowing to do!

Serious work digging out coffee plants!

Also got to work in the daycare!

Activites with the kids

Poking wars!? Kids enjoyed it!

And lastly, we had an impromptu dinner at our house!  it was great!

Everyone loves the hammocks!

Fun with the kids

Sheep!
It's not all fun and games with kids!  Sometimes we make them work--HARD!

Cleaning Phase 2!

JE Team 3- Cornerstone, Bellevue, NE

The Team!

This team got to start working on the street outside of our property.  Every couple times a year, it gets overgrown and clogs up the drains, which floods our parking lot and property with trash and nasty ditch water.  They were lucky enough to be here to help us clean it up!

Our intern Madeline working in the whole where the clog was!

Starting to cut and haul away

NASTY! Ditch water
However, in the afternoon, they were able to play with the daycare kids!  FUN after a hard day's work!

Playing shoe showdown!

Duck Duck Goose anyone?

JE Team 4- Cypress Christian, Houston, TX

The Team!

Finishing up where yesterday's team left off!

This was some SERIOUS nasty work!

Finished the street!

Also got to move some trees!  This team worked hard!!!

Digging up the tree!

Making a place for it outside of Steve Thomas' window!

August Fun!!

August was a wrap up of our busy season!  We made it through Busy Team Season #4!!

Take a look at our life in August--through photos, of course!

ENJOY!

We welcomed our last team of Busy Team Season!

First Christian Church of Effingham, IL
Although we missed the team from Touch the World, TLCC, we did get to see them on their last day here.  We got to meet up with old friends!

Got to see Jason from last year!

And we also got to see Julian from last year's team as well!

At the end of busy team season, we were invited to join a family on their family vacation.  They invited our family to join them for about 5 days at the beach. It was such a blessing for our family--there is no way to say thank you, except, GOD IS GOOD! We had such a GREAT time! And started to feel refreshed and recharged!

The hotel and view from our room!

Bruce caught a sail fish as well!

Bruce got to go deep sea fishing and caught a DOUBLE margarita

Then took it back to the restaurant where they cooked it for them!

We got to take a boat ride out on the ocean

Beautiful view!
While the guys went deep sea fishing, we went to Manuel Antonio National Park! First time for us! We really enjoyed it!
Up close and personal with the monkeys

We got to see a baby monkey on it's mama's back!!!

We stopped by the Tarcoles River--always a lot of crocs!

Seriously, too scary

Saw these caterpillars everywhere--I didn't touch! But super cool!
Finished up the vacation with a tour of Doka Coffee Plantation! YUM!

At the end of the vacation, we promised to watch RV! Good movie!!

The rest of the month was trying to get back into routine of school and last teams and "normal life"

Leyton was able to be a part of team activities in the daycare--a superhero cape!
We were also able to go to a water park with the team and children's homes!

Look how sweet! Miles 5 months old

We caught this BIG OL' TOAD in our back yard.  That is a 1 gallon container!!
Although we didn't get to see the total eclipse here in Costa Rica (1. because of the clouds and 2. it was only a partial eclipse here) we did enjoy some pictures on the internet of friends! We did talk about it with the kids! It was pretty cool!

Emme had a pajama party with friends before one left in adoptions!

Caught this while out and about!

This was a grub worm that was found on Phase 2 at the AP--YUCK!!!!
We were blessed with security cameras to put up at our house!  This was the first trespasser we saw!

We are so thankful in the many ways that God has blessed our family! He can use anyone at any time in any way He decides!  And we reap the blessings of that!
