At the end of June, we welcomed our home church, Southside Christian Church, Harrodsburg, KY!
It is always a breath of fresh air to receive people we know and love. This team was a small team of 6, but came with a lot of LOVE! We have been trying to get Season Prewitt to come down here since we were leading trips--but never could. Until this year! It was so nice to have her, along with the team staple, Pappy; the fearless leader, Riley; and three new faces: Sarah, Kelsie and Dustin.
So when the team arrived, they got to stay at our house. At the same time, we had 3 other people with us as well. To say it was tight corners the first night was an understatement--but as always, Southside came with servant hearts and flexible....
They would be getting up very early the next day to head to a church 6 hours away, in Rincón, Peninsula de Osa--southern peninsula of Costa Rica, Pacific side. This is a church that our home church has worked on for several years. It is wonderful to have a partnership continue with the pastors after all this time!
I, Angie, was very sad to not be able to go with the team--the kids as well could not go. It was the week of exams--the week before vacation, so we were at home while the team was far away. I'm not going to lie, I was TRULY bummed about several things. The team was going to be here for 7 days and I was not going to be around them for basically 5 of those 7 days! THANKS COSTA RICA SCHOOL SYSTEM (insert mad face emoji)!!
But I was super thankful to get to spend the little time I did with them....and thankful that Bruce took some pictures so I could pretend I was there with them...sweating, fishing, sweating, getting dirty, working, sweating--you get the point!

Here is a look at the work: they painted the roof, welded the base for the gutters, put the roof over the bathrooms and they tiled the bathrooms.

So thankful to still have our home church come and support us! It means so much to us. And hopefully next time they come, I will be able to spend time with them! Oh well! Still trying to find that balance of ministry and mom....one day hopefully!
In HIM,
