In September, Bruce and I found a Vietnamese restaurant that had Pho. If you know anything about us, WE.LOVE.PHO!! And we were so excited to find an authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Costa Rica that we could afford! It is life changing!

We also welcomed into our tribe Cecilia. She is an exchange intern from Germany and staying with Natalia and David. So for the next year, she will be along the ride when we hang with our tribe!

In September we were also blessed by attending a retreat here in San José, Costa Rica by the Christian Hospitality Network( link:
https://thechn.org/) It was a 4 day 3 night retreat completely paid for by CHN--our hotel room, food and activities. It was a time of spending time as a family and regrouping after a busy team season! A time of relaxing and rejuvenating and mingling with other missionaries from Costa Rica and 11 other Latin American countries. It was amazing!

View from our hotel room |
The best part was there were a whole lot of missionary kids there and they had a kid game room. That is where most of the kids hung out all together.

Boys just being boys |
Emme also had a good amount of missionary teens!
|
Hanging out at dinner together |
Bruce was awarded the "Best Beard" award....no surprise!

They were beard accessories! |
One of the days for lunch, Bruce and I snuck away for date afternoon. The kids had a pool party, lunch and hang out day, so we could go have a date! And of course, we went to get PHO!!
|
Our favorite restaurant now! |
The CHN offered haircutting services, doctor appointments, chiropractor appointments, counseling and just the ability to self care....whatever that may look like for each missionary.
Emme and I took advantage of getting our hair cut!

The kids had to share a bed, but look how cute (they posed for this, of course!) |
All of the missionary families were able to take part in it! So we took a picture together on our last dinner there!
