September Fun!

Check out our life in photos! See what we were up to in September! ENJOY!

Bruce has decided to continue on his health journey by adding triathlons. So a friend of ours blessed him with a road bike--it is beyond a blessing as bikes in Costa Rica are up to triple the price than in the States.

The bike arrived! Our first time shipping something to Costa Rica!

The bike is beautiful and basically made just for Bruce's size!
Emme participated in her last competition for swimming. She is moving up from Infantil (juniors) to Juventil (teens), so it was her last competition in the pools. She will now train in open waters (lakes, oceans).

Sometimes there are things you can't get in Costa Rica.  One of them is Jiffy cornbread mix....and sometimes you make do with what you have. Bruce made some cornbread with Chorreadas (corn pancake mix). It was a pretty good success--not quite the same, but it served us well with our chili!
That's just picture perfect! SMILE
September 15th is Independence Day in Costa Rica.  This year Emme was selected to be part of the abanderados (flag group) in the Independence parade for their school. It was hot, and long, but she was honored to be a part of it!

Flag holder!

Leyton was walking in the parade with his class

Fancy!

For Independence Day, the schools also do a parade of Faroles (lanterns). So the kids made a home made lantern and march around the school in remembrance of Independence.

Also for Independence Day, we had a dinner with our friends and of course Bruce made special apple pies!
Beautiful!

Our puppy, Miles, is the sweetest most cuddly puppy!
Leyton was also invited to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese! They have one here! It just opened not too long ago.  It was RIDICULOUSLY expensive, but the kids had fun!

Chuck E. Cheese is pretty much the same--but it is new here and so people are dying to go there!

Leyton has become a really good reader and has gotten into the Harry Potter series.  I can't believe how far he was come in his reading in just this year!

Love this sight!

We also got to go to a school carnival.  They had games, water slides, rides and a whole lot of food. It was fun!
