TTW: Christian School of York, PA

2016 brought another team from Touch the World Touch the World.  A new school from Christian School of York, from York, PA.

This team was a Spanish high school class and they wanted lots of immersion in culture, language and FUN!

This team was the epitome of our saying, "blessed are the flexible."  To say that there were a few bumps and hiccups along the week with this team would be an understatement.  But each one of these kids picked up the pieces and rolled with the punches.  Props to their teachers/leaders and also to Touch the World, as all of these students go through intensive classes and instruction before they head to the mission field.

We were so thankful to meet each and every one of these kids and we know that they will go on to do GREAT things!!

Thanks TTW and CSY!  Hope to welcome you back to the AP sometime in the near future!

At the AP first day for the tour
The team got to work in the daycare with the children--This was the best as they did all the Spanish speaking.  I didn't have to do anything--except supervise! Yay for Spanish speaking high school students!

The team came ready to work the first day!

The team came over for dinner at our house (and of course I have no pictures of this)  Sergio, from our Skateboard ministry, shared a word and gave his testimony.  It was a powerful night.

Our kids, Sergio and Jenni's kids and Maria's kids.  All enjoying the food!

The team also got a tour of Phase II

Walking in the coffee plantation

The team also got to do some construction/ manual labor.  It was garden maintenance and painting detail!  Getting ready for rainy season!

On Thursday, the team went to a feeding ministry in La Carpio.  It was a great time to interact with the kids and to love on them!  The whole team had a great time--especially with the balloon animals!

This was the balloon room--IT.WAS.HOT!!

Coloring activities with the kids

This " elephant mask" was a big hit with the kids!

TTW director Jesse was responsible for the elephant masks!

On Saturday, the team got to participate in a Sports outreach event--although it didn't turn out as we planned, we had a rockin' good time doing aerobics with the community in the morning!  There were about 70+ people there!

Having a great ol' time!

Even TTW directors get jiggy with it....

After aerobics, the team got to meet and learn about a special soccer team called Homeless World Cup/ Costa Rica (you can read more about this cool organization here: Homeless World Cup Costa Rica )

Learning about the Homeless Soccer Team

We presented a soccer ball with scripture to the head coach/ trainer

After that, we had some of the girls play a soccer scrimmage game against an U-13 girls soccer team!

And right before we left, Connor and Leyton took part in stairwell races!
On Saturday night, the team went to a house church/cell group in Patarra with Marvin and Jessie.
