Christian Life Center, IL

We welcomed a first time team from Christian Life Center, from Tinley Park, IL.

This team absolutely was the epitome of flexible, servant hands and hearts.

The team missed a connection and then was re-routed through Panama and didn't arrive till very early in the morning--after leaving Chicago very early in the morning.  But they came to the Project the next day with GREAT attitudes--tired, but ready to serve!  And boy did they!

Check out their week!

The team
The first day when the team arrived was--YARD WORK!!
A lot of grass to cut and trim

Not to mention the weeds....
The team also worked in the daycare!  FUN!

Trying to get a group picture...Stacy is giving me the "hand"
Team took a tour of Phase 2 with Steve Thomas

He likes to talk!

When you walk off the path of Phase 2...you get stuck!

And boy do they poke you, right Caleb?
The team also had fun game time challenges with the kids--literally the funniest faces I have ever seen!

This one was getting the cookie from your forehead to your mouth

Another game of chance!

Egg on the spoon relay race

Got to play with the Children's homes kids

The team also spent the day at La Carpio feeding ministry

Prepping the food

Feeding the kids

Games

Dancing
We got to go with the team to La Carpio, as a family.  Sometimes ministry and school schedules don't allow our kids to be fully involved in our ministry opportunities.  We decided to serve as a family--I'm so glad we did!

Ended the day when the rain clouds came in!
On Sunday, the team ate lunch with the Children's Homes and got to play with them!

They clean up pretty nice!

Always a fun time with the kids!
Sunday night was cell group at Eliel and Rode's house!

Always a packed night!
On Monday, the team left--we said goodbyes and off they went.... or so we thought....

Saying goodbye--she was trying to be like me!

At the beginning of the post, I said this team was very flexible...well, after the team was dropped off at the airport, we got a call saying that the airport was closed because Turriabla Volcano erupted again.  The team was told that they would not be able to leave until Thursday.  So Bruce went back to the airport and picked them up. On the way back to our house, they stopped for food...

This is what Stacy thought about McDonald's in Costa Rica
But thankfully, they only had to stay 1 extra day in Costa Rica. After much finagling, They were able to leave the next day and off they went, back to Chicago!  Even after all of that, they were still all smiles!

We love you CLC!!

We are so thankful for this team!  They were amazing!

In HIM,
