April Fun!!

Overall, April was a pretty chill month....but really it was the calm before the storm! We had a great time as a family and just resting before our busy season arrived!

Check out what we did!

These are the kinds of things you find when you are driving in Costa Rica.....

A school field trip, all of the students are on the side of the road!

Where are you supposed to go!!??

Just another day walking to school!

We had a visitor in our kitchen.  Luckily I caught him before he knocked himself silly on our windows!

When the water is off all day, it looks like this....yes, it is water!

Emme and I went to see Cinderella with Georgiana and Bethany--A Girl's Date!

Emme's first round of tests in 3rd grade--This is when she was sick, and had a team the week before and during tests! Still came out with  2-100s, 95 and 85! So proud of her!

SWEET!

While mommy and Emme had a date, so did the boys!

So anyone who knows Bruce, he likes to make things....here are a few of his recent projects:
Smoker from hot water tanks--still a work in progress

Mate (tea) coconut cup

This is the one that our painter made for hime--PRETTY GOOD, HUH!!??

Wall flower beds for flowers!
Leyton got to help repair some windows with Daddy!

What a cutie!

What a good helper!

Bruce also went to San Carlos to finish working on a house with Diego, Steve, Eliel.  While they were there, they finished painting, did a little welding and finished tiling an island.
This is a moth called 'bigote' mustache--can you see why?

Painting and welding

Even Steve Thomas tried his hand at welding

Two of the boys that live in the house.  This wheelbarrow was their only toy--cuties!

Love it when we make a typical breakfast.  Fried eggs, gallo pinto, turriabla cheese and fresh avacado
We also took this down time to plant some more flowers and spruce up the backyard before rainy season.  Take a look:

BEFORE

AFTER:

This has been a common occurrence lately....sneaky little boy!
This little boy also celebrated his 6th birthday here in Costa Rica--can it be??!!

This little 6 year old decided to draw on Steve Thomas' house! A beautiful rainbow!

So on his birthday, he had to clean it off!

We also went to Pizza Hut (his choice) for his birthday and he got a YUMMY piece of cake!

Making a wish.....

Blowing out the candle

His face when I took one--ONE bite of his cake.  He ate it all in front of us!

Sweet little thing!

This month Leyton was also introduced to writing lines.  He took a marker from the teacher's desk and drew on one of the classroom walls.  So here he wrote 5 times and drew a picture of what he did wrong! He didn't like it!
Mornings + Coffee= good quiet time!

And quiet time with a puppy=even better!

Right on the phone line, you can see a yellow dot--this is a beautiful bird that we have seen a few times at the Project.

This is the same bird as above-it is called a Bobo.  So pretty!
The kids finally started an organized activity!
Swimming lessons!
A new facility (small one) just opened up so now we can walk there!

And of course, the first time we have to walk, it rains for the first time of Rainy Season!

The kids in the class

The last week of April I was able to attend the Women's English Bible Study.  Only one time during the whole study, but it was the day we took the picture!  YAY!!  I have missed this bible study and can't wait till the next one!
We also had just one team during April.  It is a returning team that is always such an encouragement!  Living Hope Baptist Church.  We are so thankful for them and their serving hearts and hands!
Their team with our team!
And Emme and Leyton got to partake in the annual Living Hope Baptist Church Egg-travaganza Hunt!

Leyton and some of the kids "looking for" the eggs!

Seriously so many eggs! Emme getting a whole bunch!
Well, that was our April! It was pretty slow, but we were doing good at relaxing and trying to spend time as a family.  Preparing for our busy season and trying to get organized.....like I said...TRYING!

Blessings,
the crawfords
