February Fun!

Here is our life through photos!

ENJOY!

We started  chore night for each of the kids. 2 night of dishes a week. It is to help the family and to take responsibility.
Seeing this kid doing dishes makes my momma heart happy!

We were invited  a Superbowl party this year. We went as a family since it wasn't a school night. Food, friends and fun!

A mixture of Ticos and Gringos!

Had a great time watching the Chiefs win!

Before school started, we took the kids out for a day of fun--bowling and go-karting

Emme bowling!

That's me passing Leyton!

February 10th was the first day of school for the kids! By generous donors, we are still able to keep them at the same private school. We are so thankful!

Unbelievable--where has the time gone?

Emme starting 8th grade

Leyton starting 5th grade

Sibling love!

Sometimes going shopping in another country is fun and funny. There are many examples of foreign products in English that just are not grammatically correct or situationally correct. Here is an example:

This was a backpack being sold for back to school. I definitely think that the phrase is not really appropriate for school. But I'm sure some kids would find it appropriate--if they understand what it says!

We also had some excitement. After many years of wanting to see a hummingbird nest and babies, my dream finally came true. We had a nest with 2 babies and we have gotten to watch them grow. I have other pictures on the GO-PRO, but haven't downloaded them yet!

After about 6 weeks, both of the babies were learning to fly. Here they are on the clothes line together

Here is one of the babies more grown up

And here was the other.

The only real way you could tell they were babies was the length of their beak and how they flew, other than that, it was really fast to almost be full grown size!

At the beginning of February I started a bible study with some of my friends on line from Tennessee. I just love being able to "sit-in" and listen and be a part of a community.

This is my friend, Stella, who every week is very interested why I am in the box...

This year our family is running the San Jose Marathon together--don't worry, me and the kids are doing the 5K race and Bruce will be doing the marathon again. But we started training!

First run with Emme

First run as a family

On Sunday, February 23, Emme participated in an Open Water Swim Training at Playa Herradura. She swam 1500 meters in the ocean (that's just under 1 mile). She did it amazingly well. She is now excited for her next one and is even thinking about doing a triathalon at some point in the future!

#24! A cold morning, but thankfully that doesn't bother her!

All of the 1500m and 3000m swimmers. She is right in the middle

This was the course. Out to the red buoy to the right around to the buoy on the left then to the yellow buoy in the center--TWICE!

Here she is finishing with one of her swim team mates. Then we spent the whole day at the beach as a family!

Dry season always brings the mosquitoes and the mosquitoes always bring the geckos....but we love our geckos!

Here is one of the babies. the dot above it is a screw head--so you can see how small he is!

And here is a picture from Leap Day for you....for no other reason that I tell my kids and people all the time, you steal my phone and take pictures, I have the right to--and will--post to social media--so think about it before you do it!

Happy Leap Day!

Thanks for reading!
