Love and Truth Church, TN

After our return from the States, we were welcomed by a veteran team, Love and Truth Church from Tennessee.  These people are like family, and we love when we get to meet more of them each year on their trip.

Take a look at their week!

The team is always here during Steve Thomas' birthday.  This year we "surprised" him with dinner at our house!

Candid shot of us trying to send a message to Pastor Sherri....madness....

ALMOST got to smash his face in the cake....he was ready for it!
The team worked in the daycare throughout the week.  They did a GREAT job with activities and stories and getting involved with the kids!

The lost sheep story and activity!

The team sharing the message to the kids! Alejandra (to the left) speaks Spanish and was a great asset--for me!

Making crowns because we are ALL princes and princesses because we are children of THE KING!

Courtnie was a princess for the day!

So involved!

It was so sweet, after we left the classroom, one of the classes went down to eat snack and all of the kids were wearing their crowns at lunch--they were definitely keeping up appearances as princes and princesses!!

Eating at the King's table!

The team also worked on Phase 2--A LOT!!  They started the week clearing the land and then they blessed us with paying for a big bulldozer to clear the land even faster!  We went from trying to cut coffee plants by hand to just digging them out of what the bulldozer cleared--WHAT A BLESSING!

Bruce also had the backhoe out and running
We also had Laura, our former intern, come for a visit! Of course, we put her to work!

Laura and Misty removing coffee plants!

Took out a couple of trees too!

Here is a before picture of Phase 2:

 And here are two after:

Emme worked on this coffee plant for a long time. She wanted to quit and I told her no.....

Here she is celebrating--air guitar coffee plant! ROCK ON!!!

Jenni was probably the hardest worker of all! She never stopped and never stopped smiling!

Working hard!

Bruce got to play with the chainsaw again....have to get rid of some of the not healthy trees!

Leyton found his new toy too!

A job well done!

The completed land clearing!

The tree trunk says LOVE & TRUTH

Got to have a nice dinner with the team.  We went to Hamburguesia--some of the best hamburgers in Costa Rica!

YUM YUM!
Also took team to the Gelato place! YUM!
Got to have the team over for dessert night at our house!

Mint chocolate cheesecake! Made by Bruce--of course!

The team also got to go to La Carpio, the biggest slum in Costa Rica and Central America, to love on the kids and help serve food at the feeding ministry.  Emme was able to go with us that day and she had a great time loving on the kids!

Emme dancing with one of the girls--she attracts them where ever she goes!

Even Eddie got into the dancing!

Jenni dancing!

Group activities with kids

Another group making rainbow streamers

Another fun group!

These two boys were so cute--they were "too cool" to make a project at the beginning....by the end they each had TWO!!

Group with Pastor James and Pastor Cristina

On Sunday, the team got to do lunch and activities with the Children's Homes.

Craft time!

Lots to do and make!
And lastly, Sunday night, the team went to the cell group and Pastor Steven got to share with the group!

Sharing the word in every place!

We are always so thankful to have Love and Truth with us each year!  They bring so much to serve--the kids, the Project and us!

Thanks for reading!
