February Fun!

February....already 2 months into 2017....lots of changes and starting of team season!

Check out our life through photos....

Finishing up working with Daddy!

The finished product!  The kiosko is getting closer to being finished!

Second week of February means start of school!

This year our "adopted" son, Jordan, started kindergarten!

Emme on first day of 5th grade

Leyton on first day of 2nd grade

Cooper was ready to take the kids to school!  He loves going with me in the mornings!

The ash on the way to school! LOVELY...ugh!

Walking into school!
Here is a comparison of Leyton and his friend Sofia.  This is in the same spot every year.  Look how much he has grown!

In February, I also got to be a part of the Christ for the City, International Presidential Tour.  We went around to several different ministries lead by Christ for the City, here in Costa Rica.  We are looking to partner more with some of these ministries.  It was a wonderful time talking with these local ministries and the missionaries.

The first one I went to was in Cartago, called Renacer.  It is a refuge for young girls with addiction problems.  An amazing ministry!

The next one we went to was in Pavas.  It is a sewing ministry.

These are the machines they use

Here this lady is doing embroidery with this machine--stitch by stitch.

This is the finished product! Amazing

We also got to see the ministries in La Carpio

The first ministry was Renuevos which is a center for all things--sewing, cooking, baking, carpentry, bible studies, sports outreach, computer classes and English classes--and much, much more

Kitchen
The plaza

Daycare

The next ministry was "Las Gradas" Which means steps.  There are 120 steps down to the river where the poorest of the area live.

The beginning of the descent.

The polluted river (trash and sewage) that many of the kids play in

The area right next to the ministry site

On the walk back up

On our way out, these guys hitched a ride on one of the dump trucks--it is a normal occurrence.

The last ministry we visited was Tirrases.  This is a neighborhood very infested with gangs and drugs.  This is an outreach center with bible studies, feeding ministry and a local hangout spot for all ages and groups--to keep them off the streets.

The main building

Sharing with the ministries and hearing testimonies.  The guy in the white tanktop was a former gang leader changed by this ministry.

The new community center

Understanding the neighborhood and its needs.

Georgiana and I got to meet up with ladies from the adoption agency, Lifeline. It was great getting to see faces that many of our families get to work with.

Took the kiddos to the park to get the wiggles out!

Another beautiful sunset

Emme started swim team on Wednesday nights

Leyton got to help make his new bunk bed

He also made his monster truck and lego table!

We welcomed Love and Truth team from Tennessee!

The team

We washed their travel shirts for them....we had a whole lot of Love and Truth in our back yard! It's a good thing!

We had dessert night with the missionaries! YUM!

Someone posted a picture of me from 5th grade, decided to compare Emme and me (same age) and Leyton and me....do you think they look like me!?

Emme got to go out to a movie with her friends...and I chaperoned!

Love when our friend, David, comes to visit us at the Project!

Leyton and Daddy revamped his NERF gun, now it looks like an assault weapon

We also visited Pastor Santos in Calle Girales.  This is where the floor fell from underneath the church from a landslide.

Bruce started working on the children's homes showers to replace all of the surrounds.
We had a construction team that came down to redo all of them.  What a lot of work, but what a blessing!

We got the game "Watch your Mouth"!  Family Christmas picture!?

Thanks for all your support!
