November Fun!

November was a crazy month--but full of good times and memories all around!

Accident with a car and motorcycle--this is a daily occurrence!
We welcomed a team from Evangel Christian in KY.

They got to be English speaking visitors in the English class on Saturday
November was a BAD month for Turrialba Volcano.  Everything was covered in ash!

All the cars looked like this

Even the plants were showing signs of lots of ash

Just a beautiful reminder of God's glory and daily mercies

We finished Emme's Presidential Project at school!

November was also celebrating Maria's birthday.  This was the first time she ever had a party--we threw her a small surprise party

Opening her presents!
Leyton got to have a sleepover with his friends Marc and Luca
Laura and I also took Natalia to Tortuga Island as a last hurrah before Laura went back home

Me, Laura and Natalia at Tortuga Island

A beautiful day at the beach

On our way back into port, we saw a rainbow!

We had a going away party for Laura!

Me and Laura

We made a s'mores dip! YUM!!!

We always love the wildlife in our back yard!

November is full on Christmas in Costa Rica.

I'll never get used to seeing Christmas decorations with 80 degree weather!
We were invited to a quinceanera party for one of our friend's sister.  It was quite a big deal!

We also welcomed Cameron with us for about 10 days--this was his first night here and he got to see what a Latin American party is like!
Don't worry, he didn't look this shocked all night!!

Cameron helped us with Elfie--he liked it a little too much!

Ya know, talking on the phone in the rain under an umbrella--normal life!

One of the hardest puzzles and I finished it in 2 days!
Of course, November brings Thanksgiving!

Bruce doing what he does best!

The gringo spread!

The Gringos, Ticos and the food--Leyton is first in line!

We took Cameron the the beach and stopped by the Tarcoles River

Always impressed with these crocs!

Cameron taking in the beach life--PURA VIDA!

Leyton having fun at the beach!

Emme and Cameron having fun in the water!

On the way back--everyone was tired! HAHA

While Cameron was here, Costa Rica got hit with a hurricane--first ever on record, Hurrican Otto.  So that put a damper on plans to see the country--because everything was closed.  But I think he still had a good time!

After Hurricane Otto, Bruce and our new missions pastor, Gonzalo, took clothes, food and supplies up north to Upala.  Thankful for the truck, because most of the roads and the towns were impassable.
