The Multi-Purpose Roof.....Phase 1 coming to a close!

The last building on the Abraham Project on Phase 1 is the Multi-Purpose Building.  And the name is exactly what the building will be used for......many purposes!!

Here is a short history of God's hand on this construction of this building:

Construction on the building started in March of 2007 and slowly but surely it has been added to over the years.

Here are some pictures in 2008 after construction was started:

At the end of August, beginning of September the workers started working on finishing the columns for the trusses to be placed for the roof.  This included making all of the wood forms and setting them all in place to receive the concrete.  Middle of September we received the concrete pumper truck which was a GOD SEND! Over two different dates, both walls were finished and the columns completed!

Just a few days later, the first of the beams arrived on the ground here in the parking lot.  They were waiting for the walls to be completed and first week of October, they were lowering the crane into the cancha (church floor.)

A few days later, they were trying to hoist up the first truss.  But after being too big, heavy and long for the crane and after breaking and bending the truss, they had to change plans.

After realizing the pitch was too high and the beam too long for the crane, they started hoisting them up in halves; joining them and then welding them together.

After the first beam was set, they started moving right along!

Here is "kind of" a chronological review of the process thus far.....keep checking back to see the progress!
