May Fun!

May was a SUPER busy and FUN month for us!

We had a lot of people in our house, a bridal party (bachelorette party), a race, a birthday, friends visit, an intern living with us, a soccer game, lots of rain, a sleepover, volleyball and teams and normal life on top of that!

In May, we welcomed  2 teams, but they were some of our favorite people! (Because they are lead by our friends!)
Riverstone youth team from ATL and Calvary Christian Academy from PA

Calvary Christian Academy, PA

We had a return intern to help us out during the summer team season. Sophie was an intern last year (2018) and was willing to come back and help us out this summer for almost 3 months. She was such a joy to have and she was our saving grace! And she became part of the family...we love Sophie!
One of my favorite pictures of her! haha

After the Calvary Christian Academy team left, our friends and their kids stayed with us a couple of days to run the San José marathon with us.  We had a total of 10 people sleeping in our house! There were bodies and beds everywhere! We LOVED it!

Our kids, the Adsit kids, Sophie, Nelly and Christian all watching a movie and eating dinner--on the floor!

The day before the race, we had to go pick up our packets and we ran across the blue line-the marathon route!
Check out that Blue Line!
When we picked up our race packets, there were a lot of cool things and it started to down pour, so we hung out and checked everything out!
Bruce with the medal series 8 in all, 2019 was year 2.
While we were waiting, one of the professional photographers found Bruce and gave him his picture from last year! He asked him, "Is this you?' How could it not be..... haha

Finished the marathon--half for me and Kim. Our friends, Kim, Chris, Bruce and Angie

Bruce finished all the pizza cutting tools for the pizza oven.
We used the tools and everything turned out great--yes, Bruce made them

In May, the students at the Deaf school had a visit from some special animals.  There is a celebration of animal rights and an advocate came with some special friends that survived animal abuse. They were the sweetest doggies.

Emme has been involved in soccer club after school, and they had a game. They lost, but had a lot of fun playing together!

Emme has also been a part of a local volleyball team. She really likes it and has some natural talent!

Bruce also worked on his gas smoker.  It was just the beginning phase, but everything looked good!

In May, we started rainy season and it rained a lot in Cartago. The roads were about 3 inches deep and I had to walk through the raging river a few times!
The road--on the other side, the bus stop!

Hey, when you live in Costa Rica in rainy season--always have your rain coat!

We also had a bachelorette party for one of Nelly's friends. It included eating, watching a movie, painting nails and doing face masks...then a big pijama party!

Opening gifts!

We also had a waffle bar for one of our teams--only because Sophie and Bruce said they could do it...I just watched! That was too stressful for me! But it was for our dear friends from Riverstone youth, so it was so worth it!

The waffle bar!

Leyton was also able to have a sleepover with his friend Jude from Atlanta! We always stay at his house when we are there, so this time, he got to come on a missions trip with his family and was able to stay the night at our house!

Leyton and Jude working together--with hammers!

Last, in memory of one of our former interns, Kennedy, Leyton wanted to make macaroni and cheese with octupi....(hotdogs), so of course I obliged!

We miss you Kennedy!

Thanks for taking a looksy!
